The Maccabi VAC took part this August in the JCC Maccabi Games in Omaha, in the US. The Maccabi VAC Hungary produced fantastic results at the event, where more than 1,000 participants competed. Our athletes represented Hungary, Europe, and the Hungarian Jews spectacularly.
Our team:
Lisowsky Luna
Nagy Dávid
Stern Dániel
Galambos Máté
Szepesi Bence
Coach : Lior Harari
We brought home 6 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals, as well as the prestige of being the only European country in the games. This couldn’t have been achieved without the help of many Maccabi VAC leaders, supporters, and the parents of the participants.
We must thank the organisers in Omaha for a fantastic job well done, and for their support for the team. We believe that setting and acheiveing high goals in athletics is important to Judaism and the representation of the Maccabi.
It is also very important to us that Lior Harari, an Israeli living in Hungary, agreed to coach the team. With this, he represented the strong bond between the two countries, and the diplomacy of the Maccabi.
