Hungarian success at the Maccabiah

Maccabi VAC Hungary has never participated with such a big delegation in the Maccabiah like this time. 120 people including 100 athletes joined the team to experience the spirit of the 20th Maccabiah where 10 000 athletes from 80 countries competed in 40 different sports.  

Ádám Jusztin, the chairman of Maccabi VAC Hungary made an important statement. Team Hungary already won more medals on the first week of the Games than at the entire Maccabiah in 2013. 

Outstanding Hungarian results:

Anita Schrödl, junior sabre: silver

Regina Binet, female foil: bronze
Róbert Gátai, male foil: silver
Martin Singer, male sabre: bronze

The male foil and sabre team won bronze too!

The Hungarian taekwondo team became the most successful foreign team at the Maccabiah!
Dániel Murinai, 87 kg: gold
Ádám Gulyás, 87 kg: silver
Norbert Rizmayer, 58 kg: bronze

Dániel Békési, 4×200-as freestyle: bronze

János Becsey two-time Paralympian, four-time Paralympian world champion won bronze in 50m butterfly and 50m breaststroke.

Zsuzsi Kunos, karate kumite female: gold

Laura Sterck, karate open: gold

Bálint Kroinstein, karate: silver

Elvira Kádár and S. Ernlib (ISR) female table tennis, doubles: bronze

Fanni Perjés, 800 m track and field: bronze

András Lőwy, 10 km road race: bronze
