Community Hike in Matrafured!

 

We’ve formed the Maccabi Hiking community!

We proudly invite all nature lovers to the following event:

Route: Budapest – Gyöngyös – Mátrafüred – Mátraháza – Kékestető

Theme: Hanukah and famous Jewish athletes

All the hikes will have a theme of a Jewish holiday, and due to the date, the first hike will be about the spirit of Hanukkah.

In addition, on the hike, we will introduce you to three successful Jewish athletes and their athletic fields, like Alfred Hajos, Ilona Elek and Ilona Keleti.

Details about the trip:

The bus is routed from Budapest to Gyongyos, and we will be traveling all the way to Matrafured.

Those taking the bus will be meeting at the Stadion Bus Station in the morning.

Those arriving with cars will be meeting in the Volan bus parking lot in Matarafured, where we will embark on our adventure.

Details about the date:

The exact dates (meetings, departures, arrivals) will be shared only by email or on the phone with the participants and not publicly distributed. The hike will start on the first of November, however the times described on the Facebook event may be subject to change.

Costs of the trip:

The hike is completely free! However, one might want to think about the following expenses:

Those who travel by bus, Volan bus tickets, the prices can be viewed here: http://www.volan.hu/.

Students receive a 50%, and those above 65 travel free.

We won’t be visiting places that have tickets to enter.

Packing information:

During the hike, we will be experiencing altitude changes, as well as mountain ranges. Since we’ll be hiking in the woods, you’ll need hiking boots, a backpack, comfortable clothing, as well as snack and water as we’ll arriving at night.

The hike will start after a minimum of 6 people have signed up.
